Fromago and the Zamora Chamber of Commerce join forces to ensure the internationalization of the trade show

In 2023, Zamora exported more than 46 million euros in cheese alone.

The Zamora Chamber of Commerce and Fromago today signed a collaboration agreement for the celebration of the World Cheese Fair to be held in the historic center of the Zamora capital during the month of September, from 12 to 15 of this month.

In this way, the Chamber of Commerce has signed a commitment with the Fromago organization for to establish Zamora once again as the cheese capital. An involvement with the dairy and cheese sector, which in 2023 made sales in foreign markets worth 94 and 46 million euros respectively.

An event that aims to promote the culture, gastronomy and tourism of Zamora not only in Spain but also beyond our borders. Therefore, one of the objectives of this new edition is to increase the number of international exhibitors , thus reinforcing the global character of this fair.

There are currently more than 200 exhibitors, i.e. more than 30% more than in the first edition, thus ensuring a real showcase to the outside world and an ideal framework for sharing synergies between different entities and to strengthen ties between different markets.

At this event, Enrique Oliveira, president of the Zamora Chamber of Commerce, said that the main markets outside Spain in terms of exports are Italy, France, the United States and the United Kingdom. This sector alone accounts for 25% of the region’s foreign trade in Zamora.

Oliveira also took the opportunity to announce that the organization will organize a meeting with importers specialized in the sector from more than seventeen different countries.

The activity will take place on September 12 and 13 and will consist of bilateral meetings between importers and exhibiting companies that request to participate in these meetings in advance.
Importers will also have the opportunity to visit the fair and the activities that will take place during those days, as well as to visit some of the cheese industries of the province.
