THE DEPUTATION PROMOTES CHEESE CULTURE IN THE PROVINCE

Through the Fromago Rural Days that will visit 6 localities

The town of Rabanales has hosted the first of the days of “Fromago Rural”, framed within the activities of the project “Fromago”, inaugurated by the deputy of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock of the Provincial Council of Zamora, Angel Sanchez Hidalgo, in an event that was also attended by the mayor of the town alistana Santiago Moral Matellán.

The conference, which continued yesterday in Bermillo de Sayago and today moves to Fresno de la Ribera, has a double objective. On the one hand, they aim to promote cheese culture in the province, showing its different varieties, origins and characteristics. On the other hand, they seek to publicize the International Cheese Fair, which will take place in the city of Zamora between September 15 and 18, 2022.

The activity will take place over 6 days and next week will continue in Villalpando (June 21), Santibáñez de Vidriales (June 22) and Corrales del Vino (June 23).

A nationally and internationally recognized cheese expert with extensive experience in this type of activities, Fátima Redondo, professional cheese maker and director of “La Cava del Queso” located in the town of Zafra (Badajoz), will be present at the event.

Each activity lasts 1:30h, between 18:30 and 20:00 h and in them a brief talk is given on the different types of cheese, its production and characteristics, followed by a guided and commented tasting of 5 varieties of cheese, national and international, where, without doubt, the excellent cheeses of the province will have a prominent participation.
