“Ovejas Fromago”, the exhibition of sheep decorated by Zamorano artists arrives in Salamanca
Throughout the weekend, strollers in the downtown area of Salamanca, in the Plaza de Los Bandos, will be surprised to see an exhibition of numerous sheep decorated in many and varied ways to promote the International Cheese Fair Fromago promoted by the Diputación de Zamora and to be held in September in Zamora.
This is a new step in the promotion of this international event that aims to host more than 300 exhibitors representing some 250 national and international cheese companies from September 15 to 18 in the city of Zamora.
The eye-catching exhibition composed of a total of 33 decorated sheep models, will remain promoting the Fromago Fair throughout the weekend in the city of Salamanca, to be installed in the streets of Zamora during the next few days, before continuing its journey through Madrid and the Portuguese city of Bragança.
It was the deputy of Agriculture, Angel Sanchez, in charge of making the presentation of the exhibition, after excusing the president of the Diputación de Zamora, Francisco Requejo, who had moved urgently to the area of the serious fire that is burning hundreds of hectares in the Sierra de la Culebra.
“We are neighbors and have many ties in common. We are barely 50 minutes away by road and this location means that we traditionally have continuous contact between our provinces. Let’s take advantage of our respective locations and join synergies,” suggested Ángel Sánchez in his speech.
The event was also attended by, among others, the first deputy mayor of the city of Salamanca, Ana Suárez Otero, the president of the Provincial Council of Salamanca, Javier Iglesias, the deputy of Economic Development, Emilio Fernández, the councilman of the City of Zamora, Christoph Strieder, the provincial deputy Atilana Martínez and other representatives of the Zamora cheese sector.
