Fromago’s Reverse Mission will concentrate 300 meetings with exporters from 17 countries

With the aim of attracting agents and distributors worldwide in destination to know in situ the many varieties, qualities of our cheeses and position the province and Castilla y Leon worldwide, the Chamber of Commerce of Zamora has organized a reverse trade mission as part of the II Edition of Fromago Cheese Experience Cheeses of Spain to be held in Zamora during the days 12 to 15 September 2024.

The Chamber of Commerce has developed a program with personalized agendas among 30 importers from 4 continents, from Germany, Austria, Colombia, South Korea, Croatia, United States, France, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Peru, Poland, United Kingdom, Singapore, South Africa and Sweden, with whom will be closed about 300 interviews with the exhibiting companies. In addition, this professional mission will allow buyers from these countries to learn first-hand about the benefits of our cheeses so that they can be marketed in these places.

Exhibitors from A Coruña, Albacete, Asturias, Badajoz, Cáceres, Cantabria, Ciudad Real, Jaén, Lugo, Madrid, Málaga, Murcia, Ourense, Pontevedra, Toledo, Valencia and from León, Palencia, Valladolid and Zamora of our region, will have individualized agendas with those importers who have shown interest in their products during September 12 and 13. It is worth mentioning that exhibitors from Portugal and Italy will also participate in the meetings with the above-mentioned importers.

From the Chamber of Zamora understand that the professionalization of Fromago will be the fundamental and differentiating revulsive to consolidate the fair both nationally and internationally as professional activities of this type is what is most valued in fairs in the sector at the international level. In addition, the Chamber has organized a program of visits for importers in the
that will go to some of the most representative cheese industries in the province.

The Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León has emphasized the effort to bring importers, not only from the traditional markets of buyers of this product, but also from those with growth potential and that in recent years have shown great interest in the cheeses of the region.

The International Dairy Industry School Foundation (EILZA), organizer of Fromago, has insisted on the importance of professionalizing the fair with a view to consolidating it as a benchmark in the specialized trade fair calendar, as well as highlighting the importance of institutional support to make the mission a reality.

This initiative has been financed by the Zamora Chamber of Commerce, the Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León and the Provincial Council of Zamora and has had the collaboration of the International Dairy Industry School Foundation (EILZA), demonstrating that this project is a clear example of successful public-private collaboration.

The presentation was attended by Ignacio Quintanilla, First Vice President of the Zamora Chamber of Commerce and Carlos Prieto, Director of the International Trade Department; Augusto Cobos, General Director of the Institute for Business Competitiveness of Castilla y León (ICECYL) and Sara Fregeneda, President of the EILZA Foundation, on behalf of the Zamora Chamber of Commerce.
