Fromago Cheese Experience 2024 Cheeses of Spain has come to an end. After four spectacular days of fair, it has closed its tents today to say goodbye to a second edition of absolute record surpassing any initial expectations.
Fromago has established itself as the most important cheese fair in Spain and aspires to be the most important in Europe. With 350 stands and more than 1,200 types of national and international cheeses, the enormous impact it has had on the capital during these days makes it one of the most important economic and social events for the city.
Since its inception, the streets of Zamora have not ceased to receive thousands of visitors leaving a truly impressive picture of the route being yesterday, Saturday, the day that the largest number of public influx and sales has been recorded.
Zamora has smelled of cheese and also of joy, fun and a party around the most important gastronomic element of its culture. Cheese and sheep have united generations for centuries and now also with new generations, young people who did not want to miss this fair and what it means for their city.
The success of sales has exceeded any initial estimate as the pace of sales has not stopped increasing since its inception on Thursday, leaving yesterday a frenzy in the 350 stands that have been distributed during the more than 2 kilometers of route.
In fact, this Saturday, the international cheese tunnel located in the Plaza de la Marina ran out of stock after exhausting the initial 300 kilos with which it began. The same has happened in some stands that during the afternoon of Saturday and Sunday morning and hung the ‘no more cheese’ thus confirming the resounding success in sales recorded.
During this last day, everyone who wanted to repeat in Fromago has been able to find a range of activities for all audiences.
At half past eleven, in the Sala de la Encarnación, one of the most awaited round tables took place, starring the sportswoman Lydia Valentín and the scientific researcher Javier Fontecha.
In the presentation ‘Benefits of dairy products for your health, cheese’ organized by Iberdrola, they have dismantled many myths about cheese and have also revealed the countless benefits it has for nutrition and health.
After it, the presentation ‘Raw Milk and Health’ organized by the Spanish Network of Artisan and Country Cheese Factories (QUERED).
At twelve o’clock have also begun the Cheese Experiences of hand of Madrid is Cheese, Atelier Bisqato, Elkano Cheese, Cheese D’Estrabilla, Quesería Sabores de Tallante, Quesería Fuentevieja, Mas Palou, Quesería O Rexo and Asturian organic cheeses.
