Three delicious recipes for this Christmas with cheese as the main ingredient

This holiday season, cheese can be the main protagonist of your table, bringing creaminess, intensity and a special touch to each dish.

If you are a cheese lover, we propose three irresistible recipes where this star ingredient is translated into three delicious recipes: a potato gratin with Gruyère cheese, a Camembert tartlet with walnuts and honey, and a refreshing pear salad with blue cheese.

Christmas delights to share!

1. Potato gratin with Gruyère and Parmesan cheese

This dish is creamy and delicious, perfect as a holiday side dish.

Ingredients:

1 kg of potatoes

300 ml of milk cream

200 ml milk

200 g grated Gruyère cheese

100 g grated Parmesan cheese

2 cloves garlic

Salt, pepper and nutmeg to taste

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin slices.

Rub a baking dish with the garlic cloves and brush with butter.

Mix the cream and milk in a bowl, season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.

Place a layer of potatoes in the dish, cover with part of the Gruyère and some Parmesan, repeat in layers.

Pour the cream mixture over the potatoes making sure they are well coated.

Cover with the rest of the cheeses.

Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is golden brown.

2. Camembert cheese tartlet with walnuts and honey

This appetizer combines creamy Camembert cheese with crunchy nuts and the sweetness of honey.

Ingredients:

1 wheel of Camembert cheese

1 sheet of puff pastry dough

50 g chopped walnuts

2 tablespoons of honey

1 beaten egg (for painting)

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 200°C.

Roll out the puff pastry and place the Camembert cheese in the center.

Top the cheese with the chopped walnuts and drizzle with the honey.

Wrap the cheese in the dough, sealing the edges well.

Brush the dough with the beaten egg.

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and crispy.

Serve hot, accompanied by pieces of bread or crackers.

3. Christmas salad of pears, walnuts and blue cheese.

A fresh but intense salad, where the blue cheese stands out in flavor and combines with the sweetness of the fruit.

Ingredients:

150 g lettuce mix (arugula, spinach, etc.)

2 sliced ripe pears

100 g blue cheese, crumbled

50 g roasted walnuts

2 tablespoons of honey

2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

3 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

In a large bowl, toss the lettuces with the sliced pears and walnuts.

In a small bowl, mix the honey, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper to make the dressing.

Pour the dressing over the salad and mix well.

Add the crumbled blue cheese on top just before serving.
