Fromago Cheese Experience 2026 Kicks Off Its Journey: Zamora Makes Its Debut in Madrid and Announces a Tour of Spain and Portugal
On Monday, the Zamora Provincial Council presented the Fromago Cheese Experience 2026 project as part of Salón Gourmets, held at IFEMA in Madrid, in an initiative supported by Tierra de Sabor that served to highlight one of this year’s major initiatives: an ambitious national and international promotional plan designed to boost the event’s visibility, attract visitors, and continue to establish Zamora as a destination for culinary tourism.

During the event, the vice president of the Zamora Provincial Council, Víctor López de la Parte, expressed the organization’s commitment to continuing to grow a project that extends beyond the fair’s duration and serves as a tool for promoting the province’s regional development, tourism, industry, and education. Along the same lines, Sara Fregeneda, president of the International School of Dairy Industries (EILZA), emphasized the value of Fromago as a meeting point for the sector, highlighting its professional dimension, its ability to generate synergies, and its role as an economic and knowledge driver for Zamora and the dairy and cheese industry.
The presentation in Madrid also served to announce the launch of the “Camino de Fromago, ” a promotional tour that will bring the spirit of the fair to various strategic locations in Spain and Portugal over the coming months.
The first stop on this tour will be Oviedo on April 28, as part of an event in partnership with La Nueva España, and will then continue to other key locations to promote the event:
Madrid – September 2
Valladolid – May 27
Silleda – June 5
Salamanca – June 17
Zamora – July 8
Porto – July 17
Bragança – August 4
With this tour, the organization aims to strengthen ties with professionals, institutions, and the media, as well as increase Fromago’s visibility in strategic markets and continue to expand its appeal.
A presentation with a Zamoran flavor
During the presentation, attendees were able to participate in a tasting designed to showcase the richness, quality, and versatility of the cheese industry. The selection included Zamorano cheese, a Tempranillo-infused cheese, a mild blend, and a Gouda, accompanied by honeys, jams from the province, and wine with the Tierra del Vino Designation of Origin.
This culinary experience has reinforced one of Fromago’s core messages: the connection between quality products, the local region, and specialized training, with the International School of Dairy Industries (EILZA) playing a prominent role as one of the cornerstones of the project.

Last few days for general registration
Another announcement made during the presentation was the imminent closing of general registration. The organizers have confirmed that the regular registration period ends this week; once it closes, registration will remain open exclusively to international exhibitors.
This decision comes in response to the positive reception this new edition has received and the progress made in the organizational process, which is now entering a decisive phase.
A project that looks ahead to 2026 with ambition
Following the success of its previous edition, Fromago is already preparing for a new event aimed at further growth. The fair will once again transform Zamora into a major international showcase for cheese, offering an experience that combines culture, gastronomy, tourism, knowledge, and economic activity.
With an exhibition area spanning more than three linear kilometers and expected to bring together nearly 300 exhibitors from around the world, Fromago Cheese Experience 2026 continues to establish itself as a major networking platform for the dairy and cheese sector and as one of the most significant promotional initiatives for the province of Zamora.
The presentation at Salón Gourmets thus marks the beginning of a new phase of promotion for an event that continues to grow and aims to take the name of Zamora and its cheese culture even further afield.
